What will you study?

This course offers you an introduction into the world of marketing, allowing you to develop key skills that you can put to use at work.  Key work place terms that colleagues use become quickly clearer, enabling you to understand and act more effectively within marketing or customer-facing projects.

Roles at this level tend to be hands-on, fast-paced and require interaction with team members at all levels.  You will be able to take more initiative in the work that you do and the impact they have on building relationships with customers too.

You will become adept at research, helping manage data, preparing information for presentations (you don’t have to do them) and becoming a highly valued member of the marketing team.  Areas that the course will cover include:

  1. exploring the benefits of marketing
  2. understanding the marketing plan and your role
  3. improving working on marketing projects, with internal staff and external suppliers
  4. help you to identify areas to excel in your role

Description

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for those in their first marketing role or who would like to move into marketing.  It introduces key marketing principles and provides students with basic skills they can put in practice at work.  It is ideal for Marketing Assistants, Marketing Executives, Event Management Assistants, Customer Service Assistants, Call Centre Employees or for those considering Marketing Apprenticeships.

Entry criteria

No previous qualifications are required.  However, if you are working or have some business experience, this will certainly help you put your learning into context.  Where English may not be your first language, it is expected that you will provide evidence of English language competence.  There are two options ie to provide evidence of either

  1. the IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component mark must be 6.0 or above) OR
  2. the Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (grade B or above).

Important: please note that the English language qualifications must have been studied within the last two years.

 

Course structure

The course consists of six online lessons, so you can choose when and where to study.  We recommend smart studying, with 1-3 hours per week so you have flexibility to plan your time.
